[ Vincent will bow his head faintly with a smile, visibly pleased that the doctor finds them satisfactory enough for his studies— until, perhaps he doesn’t? The grimacing and deep concentration must be connected to some sort of strange power, he’d imagine, but he can’t possibly forsee what that would be. So, he folds his arms across his middle, as he observes Law.
And, quite suddenly, the bodies are gone. With a blink, he will take a moment to wrap his mind around that before responding. ]
Ah— no. Not at all. [ Forcing that congenial smile back onto his features, he stands a bit straighter! ] Please, lead the way.
im gomen for how late this is..... sighs at rl but we endure
[ it is good, to see that ever-present smile waver, at least for a moment — some genuine emotion, perhaps? law has seen it too many times, people hiding things behind a smile like a mask. or perhaps it is politeness; those in higher circles always do seem to hold appearances in great value.
as they walk towards the clinic, law turns his head to look at vincent, raising his brows as he asks, ]
So... you were taking part in the subduing efforts? [ of the monster and those it infected. ]
[ For Vincent, it’s more the former than the latter, though both hold true. A concealment of the true self, an advantage - perhaps a touch of madness, too.
Upon earning Law’s attention, his own brows raise with a receptive hum. ]
Rather, the relocation efforts. [ The blond gestures back toward the library, in passing. ] My capabilities are a tad too limited to be facing mighty beasts. Guiding citizens, and handling a couple of… whatever one might call those things, was better suited to my current skill set.
[ Folding his arms once more, Vincent gives a mild shrug! ]
A little bit of everything, [ comes the response — mostly because law had been doing a little bit of everything. in the end, from subduing the transformed, to fighting the monster, he'd focused on trying to help those who were infected... and had managed, too, at least with three.
and three isn't too many... but it is more than zero. ]
What is your current skill set?
[ colour him interested. there's maybe five minutes until they reach the clinic; the streets twist and turn, the buildings are more and more run down the further they go. ]
Ah. [ To the vague explanation, Vincent nods with a chuckle. ]
Nothing to brag about, I’m afraid. My big brother taught me how to use a gun. [ Gesturing vaguely. ] That is how you came into possession of your current test subjects.
[ Despite everything, the state of the surrounding neighborhood doesn’t seem to bother him. It would actually be what he was expecting, considering that they’re incapable of running legitimate business practices. He’s seen worse. ]
